John Gaulding Becomes Lead Director of the Board for Energous Corporation
PLEASANTON, Calif.-- Energous Corporation (NASDAQ: WATT), creators of WattUp™, a wire-free charging technology that will transform the way people charge and power their electronic devices, today announced that John Gaulding has become Lead Director of Energous Corporation’s board of directors. Gaulding has been a member of the Energous board since March 15th, 2014 and the change is effective immediately.

Gaulding is currently Co-Founder and Director Emeritus of Sage Partners, an advisory firm providing counsel on strategy and corporate governance issues. He is also Chairman Emeritus of Dominican University of California, where he served for seven years as Chairman and 16 as a Trustee. From 1996-1999 and again from 2001 to the present, Gaulding has been an independent director of Monster Worldwide (NYSE:MWW), where he serves on the Audit Committee and chairs the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee. Past positions include Board Director at Ortel (NASDAQ:ORTL); Director for Yellow Media, Inc. (TORONTO:YMI); lead director and Chairman of the Audit Committee for ANTS Software, Inc.; Executive Chairman and CEO of National Insurance Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:NAIG); Non-executive Chairman of Novo Media, Inc.; and Founding Director of the popular in-airport wine lounge Vino Volo.
Gaulding's industry experience also includes 15 years as a corporate officer, serving as Vice-president for Corporate Strategy and Development for Pacific Telesis Group; President and CEO for Pacific Bell Yellow Pages; and President and CEO for ADP Claims Solutions Group. He holds a BS in Engineering from UCLA, an MBA with honors from the University of Southern California, and an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from Dominican University of California.
