Chairman of the Board
Daniel W. Fairfax is the former Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Brocade Communication Systems, a networking solutions company (“Brocade”) from 2011 until December 2017. Brocade was acquired by Broadcom in November 2017. Mr. Fairfax also served as Brocade’s vice president of Global Service and Support from 2009 until 2011, following Brocade’s acquisition of Foundry Networks, a networking equipment company, where Mr. Fairfax served as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Foundry Networks, Mr. Fairfax served as the Chief Financial Officer of technology companies, including GoRemote Internet Communications, Ironside Technologies, Inc., Acta Technology, and NeoVista Software. Earlier in his career he held senior financial management and operations positions at Siemens and Spectra-Physics. He began his career as a consultant with the National Telecommunications Practice Group of Ernst & Young. Mr. Fairfax holds a B.A. from Whitman College and a MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Reynette Au joined the Energous Board of Directors in August 2019. Au currently serves as vice president of marketing, Network & Custom Logic Group at Intel Corporation. Prior to her position at Intel, Au was vice president of marketing for Micron Technology’s mobile business unit. Other leadership positions she has held throughout her career were at organizations including Phoenix Technologies, GTIA, NVIDIA Corporation, Triscend Corporation, which was acquired by Xilinx and others. Au brings a track record of driving marketing strategy and customer engagement programs that enable the scaling and market segment share growth for a range of system solution products.
Kathleen A. Bayless
Kathleen A. Bayless served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer of Synaptics Incorporated, a leader in human interface technology, including touch, display and biometric semiconductor products used in the mobile, PC and automotive industries, from 2009 to 2015. Before Synaptics, Ms. Bayless was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Komag Incorporated, a leading supplier of thin-film disks to the hard disk drive industry. Ms. Bayless served as Chief Accountant, Corporate Controller prior to becoming CFO during her 13 years with Komag. Ms. Bayless, a Certified Public Accountant, began her career at Ernst & Young, in the Silicon Valley, working primarily with technology companies. Ms. Bayless currently serves as Audit Chair of the Board of Directors of Veeco Instruments, a leader in process equipment solutions enabling the manufacture of semiconductors, photonics, power electronics, data storage and other technologies.
Ms. Bayless has significant experience in the semiconductor industry and related fields, which has resulted in a broad understanding of the operational, financial, and strategic issues facing companies operating in our space. Ms. Bayless has extensive management experience and is well versed on the various challenges and opportunities in our marketplace, offering a unique and valued perspective to the Board.
Rahul Patel serves as senior vice president and general manager, Connectivity & Networking Business Unit, at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Prior to that, he spent 13 years at Broadcom where he last served as senior vice president and general manager for the Wireless Connectivity business. Prior to joining Broadcom, Patel held senior marketing and engineering positions at HIFN, Inc., Samsung Semiconductor, Tritech Microelectronics, and EPSON/S-MOS Systems. Patel is a proven leader with more than 25 years of experience and a strong track record for developing successful product lines, driving P&L growth and building global organizations of Fortune 500 companies in the semiconductor and telecommunications industries.
Wilkerson, currently vice president of government affairs at Michelin North America, has served as an advisor to Energous since 2018 and brings in-depth experience in both public and private sectors. Prior to her role at Michelin, Wilkerson was president of Willow, LLC, where she advised global wireless, telematics and automotive companies on government affairs, and as senior vice president of strategic planning and corporate services at Ygomi, which develops software for automated driving and ADAS.
Before joining the private sector, Wilkerson spent more than a decade in roles throughout the U.S. federal government, including the Senate and House of Representatives, Federal Judicial Center and the Federal Communications Commission, where she led the office of legislative and intergovernmental affairs and served as an advisor to the general counsel and chairman.
